Life Imitates Candice Bergen

Anyone else remember that episode of Murphy Brown where the new network execs suggested that the FYI news crew never had to do anything on location, because they could just put up a backdrop instead?

Well, apparently our Prime Minister is actually Miles Silverberg.

Of course, on Murphy Brown, they wanted to save money.

(Yeah, I know, I’m a day or two late on this.  Oh well.)

    God I loved Murphy Brown.

Remember when Martin Sheen guest starred as a former ’60s radical who had, unbeknownst to Murphy until they’d begun the on-air interview, turned into some uber neo-conservative? His sneering delivery of “…that liberal wimp, George Bush…” was brilliant.

Dear god, I miss the ’80s.

I may not have seen it. I mostly caught Murphy in reruns. In the 80′s I was in … uh… single digits so my memory of the era is a touch foggy. But I do miss the 90′s.
