    The issue isn’t freedom of expression – the issue is the overt politicization of media and whether or not political influence is being brought to bear on the CRTC.

    Kory Teneycke, former CBC pundit, Sun Media columnist, paid speaker, is hardly short fora for expression.

    Yeah, fair enough. But it strikes me that a lot of the outrage about this whole issue stems from the fact that a lot of people don’t like the idea of the station.

    I’m not sure why we think it’s so great to have the CRTC as gatekeepers for TV content. I don’t know why a government agency should be able to set up a caste system that potentially offers CTV Newsnet, CBC Newsworld, CNN and Headline News higher status than Sun TV.

    And I say this assuming the Sun TV will be absolute crap.
