Say it ain’t so, Scott. Say it ain’t so.

Anyone who has been reading this site from its inception has, I am sure, a fondness for Scott. Scott came up with the idea of the Commons. He shot me an email about an urge to start a new blog, I bought in, and from there (with a lot of work form a many other people) the Commons was born.

Except, it wasn’t originally name, the Commons. Scott’s original idea was to name this place, ‘The Whipping Post’, because we would really be putting it to politicians. Well, guess what? Scott is now a politician. He’s running for the NDP nomination in Calgary Centre.

Naturally, I wish him well. Though our politics don’t always align, I think he’d be a stand-up representative for the people of Calgary. But, naturally, if he’s successful, we’ll be pulling no punches, and we’ll take him to the whipping post whenever he deserves it.

And I’m sure he wouldn’t want it any other way.
